The arch support or insert (alternatively: shoe inserts or shoe insert, foot rest) is not used for medical purposes. It is supported by an orthopedic shoemaker or prosthetist made individually for each leg shapes. First, a diagnosis can be created, which malposition (splay foot, flat feet, high arches, flat feet, plantar flexion, possibly together with Foldable base) is then taken from the feet of an impression (plaster cast, burdened again by distinguished, balanced, or blue print for insoles).
Depending on the foot form, a given deposit is used to achieve the desired purpose:
Correction deposits (restoration of an original or desired state, according to plaster cast unloaded)
Copy of deposit (relief and uniform pressure distribution across the footprint, after contaminated plaster cast)
Soft bedding deposits (shock absorption and avoidance of pressure spikes to blue imprint)
Deposits vary considerably in material, the design and length. Suitable materials (outdated): aluminum, duralumin, wood, (current): carbon, stainless steel, thermoplastic plastics, cork, foam, respectively (except stainless steel) and leather or textile terms into consideration.
There are the respective treatment purpose e.g. borderless deposits, shell deposits, deposits at the outer edge of the heel or hallux valgus insoles. Depending on the correction function to determine whether increased supination or pronation of the forefoot or heel intends to support a corresponding wedge is placed underneath. As an alternative or adjuvant techniques to offer foot exercises and walking barefoot.
